Comprehensive
Enterprise Security Management
To be secure, corporations
need an effective security policy that is
enforced consistently across multiple firewalls.
To achieve this, a security solution must be
able to define an enterprise-wide policy and
distribute it - all from a central management
console. It must also enable corporations to
manage their entire security infrastructure -
corporate firewalls, VPNs, personal firewalls,
and QoS - from a single console.

Policy-based VPN and firewall Management
SmartCenter
and SmartCenter Pro enable administrators to
centrally manage and deploy a single firewall
policy to a large number of VPN-1 and FireWall-1
enforcement points. Once a policy is defined, it
can be automatically distributed to all
locations. This dramatically increases
management efficiency and strengthens security
because the security policy is always up-to-date
at all security enforcement points.
Automatic NAT Configuration
SmartCenter
provides administrators the capability to
automate NAT rule generation during the object
definition process. Doing this will
automatically generate the appropriate NAT rule
saving administrative time.
Integrated Quality of
Service Management
Enterprise
customers can easily extend a VPN-1 or
FireWall-1 deployment to include Quality of
Service (QoS), without the complexities
associated with deploying and managing dedicated
QoS devices. Using the QoS tab within
SmartDashboard, administrators can create and
modify the corporate QoS policy. The SmartCenter
architecture makes it possible for
administrators to use the same network objects
and user-groups used for formulating security
policies, to create the QoS policy.
Integrated Client Security
Using the
desktop security GUI in the SmartDashboard,
administrators can define security rules for
remote users that protect their machines from
unauthorized access. Security rules may be
defined for users or groups of users, enabling
organizations with different types of remote
access VPN users - such as salespeople and IT
staff - to tailor client security policies to
their users' varying needs.
Granular User Authorization
and Authentication Management
As
Web-based applications become more widely used,
centralized management of user authentication
and authorization becomes a critical
requirement. SmartCenter management centralizes
and simplifies administration of users of
corporate Web applications. Administrators can
use the Web Access tab in SmartDashboard to
easily define Web access policies for
authorization, authentication and auditing of
users in a Web-based application environment.
