Virtualized Architecture
VPN-1/FireWall-1
VSX gateway is comprised of multiple virtualized
security domains or Virtual Systems (VS). Each VS is a
complete virtualized version of a standard VPN-1 or
FireWall-1 enforcement point and contains its own
security policy. In addition, it also provides
SmartDefense attack protection capabilities, delivering
the highest level of security to the network it
protects. Multiple VSs may be associated with a single
physical interface on the gateway using VLAN technology,
enabling customers to very easily scale to hundreds of
VSs on a single platform.

Security
Performance is key
in high-bandwidth environments like data centers and
POPs, where hundreds of applications and users are
supported. VPN-1/ FireWall-1 VSX can be deployed on
multiple carrier-class platforms that use Check Point's
SecureXL performance technology to deliver secure
multi-gigabit throughput.
Non-Stop
Security
VPN-1/FireWall-1 VSX can be deployed in a cluster to
deliver non-stop security in high-speed, critical
environments such as data centers and POPs. All VPN-1/
FireWall-1 VSX gateways in the cluster are mirror images
of each other and are managed using the same management
server. At any given moment, if the primary gateway
fails, a standby gateway takes over without
interruption. Users do not need to reconnect and
re-authenticate, nor do they realize that a secondary
gateway has taken over.
